Assessment of 3D material data of the larynx
This tutorial and workshop describes methods for in vivo and in vitro assessment of material data and the impact of variations on numerical vocal fold models.
The first part of the course will demonstrate various methods for assessment of the elasticity of laryngeal tissues. Examples of measurements will be demonstrated and relevant aspects such as homogeneity and isotropy will be discussed.
In the second part the effect of the tissue parameters will be observed using a multiple mass vocal fold model. The model "vox" is programmed in Matlab and will be used during the workshop. Participants who have the opportunity to bring a notebook with Matlab may use the program on their own computer.
